When meeting with Dr. Guida, we knew that we wanted to highlight his artistic approach to cosmetic surgery as well as his extreme technical skill. Through the course of our interview, we discovered that he is an accomplished classical pianist. We proposed a performance by Dr. Guida as a way to illustrate a compelling story about the evolution from technical mastery to true artistry. Dr. Guida skeptically agreed to the proposal and choose Gnossienne No.1 by Erik Satie (a piece that is considered quite difficult) to perform for our shoot. We had never heard Dr. Guida play piano before and he kept insisting that he “wasn’t very good”. We were nervous, but we showed up at the doctor’s home prepared to film him playing piano. Watch the video to see how it turned out.

A Real Experience shared by Beautiful Sarah

10 Things They Can’t Tell You Before Breast Augmentation SurgerySarah Blogger

Hey pretty,

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you know that last May I underwent Breast Augmentation surgery. I’ve told my story and detailed my experiences with The Plastic Surgery Clinic and Dr. Frank Lista for the world to see. To be honest with everyone, it’s been one of my most successful posts and even though I posted it back in October, I still have people reaching out to me weekly asking me questions about the procedure.
The first person to reach out to me who was actually going to see my surgeon (Dr. Lista) was Linda. Her and I have LITERALLY talked every single day since the day she reached out to me. I think because we both went to the same surgeon, we were able to really connect with each other and discuss our experiences, talk about the staff we had, and basically our love for Dr. Lista (lol!). We are now self-appointed “Breasties”!
She recently had her Breast Augmentation done and we decided to write this blog post together and combine our experiences into one. We figured that there is only so much a Patient Coordinator or a Surgeon can tell you about what to expect with a breast augmentation surgery never having gone through one themselves, and that everyone has a totally different experience when it comes to plastic surgery. However, we mashed our brains together and have come up with 5 points each bringing you 10 Things They Can’t Tell You About Having Breast Augmentation Surgery.

The Word “Plastic”

The-Word-PlasticJust because the name includes the word “plastic” doesn’t mean patients who have this surgery end up with a face full of fake stuff. Plastic surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the correction or restoration of form and function. The cosmetic or aesthetic surgery is the best-known kind of plastic surgery even though most plastic surgery is not cosmetic. It can also cover life-saving surgeries.

Is it new?

Plastic surgery is not a break through innovation of medical science. It can be traced back from hundreds of years ago. First the Romans, around the 1st century BC, were capable to replace some small parts of the body such as ears and fingers. A technique similar to skin implanting was practiced at beginning in the 8th century in India. The first plastic surgeries were performed with primitive anesthesia, so they were oftentimes very painful. The invention and use of antibiotics, sulfonamide and penicillin made elective surgery possible. More and more operations were being performed to fix physical defects between the 16th and 19th centuries such as skin implants, nasal repairs and facial augmentations. Improvement in this field experiences a big jump during the times of World War I and World War II as many people lost their body parts. Many returning soldiers were injured and the field of plastic surgery had many of these clients. Now its a million dollar industry and thousands of people are undergoing plastic surgery for different purposes.

Healing & Plastic Surgery

Healing & Plastic SurgeryHealing after plastic surgery depends on a variety of factors, such as the extent of your surgery, the body parts treated and the type of notches that were performed during the surgery. Faster healing will also depend on your general health before the surgery and your immune system’s capacity to fight infections.

Faster healing?

Depending on the significance of your surgery, you may just require rest or you may have to take medications or apply special creams. Its important to take abundant rest to heal quickly so rest as much as possible. This indicates you are not allowed to exercise, vigorous movements and lifting heavy objects, even though your surgery may seem unrelated to the muscles you are using. Physical movement can lead to blood pulling towards a certain area and causing swelling and bruising.

Recovery, Speedy or Slow?

Patients should Avoid all kinds alcohol &drinking. Drinking not only slows healing, but you are likely to be taking antibiotics, which must not be mixed with alcoholic drinks. You should stay away from any types of pills or supplements, even vitamins, unless its approved by your doctor, and avoid smoking. Those cause toxins to accumulate in the blood and therefore slow healing. You should drink many caffeine-free fluids especially water and milk. Staying hydrated will quicken the healing process and help you flush the drugs from your blood circulation system.
In any case, you need to stick to the instructions and take the additional steps prescribed by your doctor to heal quickly.
